Person First Language is saying “a person with a disability” instead of “a disabled person.”

Person First Language eliminates generalizations and assumptions by putting the person before the disability. Person First Language does not mean we are shameful or embarrassed about what makes us different. Person First Language is an objective way of speaking, giving individuals the opportunity to define themselves.
